La Mama Poetica is a night of some of the best spoken word and poetry that Melbourne has to offer, with a diverse selection of both emerging and established poets. La Mama Poetica is curated and hosted by Amanda Anastasi.

BARRY DICKINS is a writer and teacher of poetry and prose. He has been writing plays since 1975 his works include ‘Remember Ronald Ryan’, which won the Victorian Premiers Literary Award for Drama.
ELENA GOMEZ is a Melbourne poet and book editor, and is the author of ‘Body of Work’ (Cordite Books, 2018) and the chapbooks ‘Chill Flakes’ (SUS Press) and ‘Per’ (co-written with Eddie Hopely, Make Now Books).
ANDY JACKSON’s most recent collection is ‘Music our Bodies Can’t Hold’ (Hunter Publishers, 2017), consisting of portrait poems of people with Marfan Syndrome. He is currently completing a PhD in poetry and bodily otherness.
JELTJE FANOY is conscious of possibilities of accent, rhythm and patterns of speech to disrupt oppressive dominant narratives. She has been involved with poetry small presses in Melbourne since the 1970s.
