At long last, the time has come. After almost a decade of showcasing their unique brand of southern-psychedelic-horror-blues-rock across the land through wild and unpredictable live performances, Melbourne trio Sheriff are finally releasing their debut full length album.
The long awaited features ten lovingly crafted tracks and is a true representation of Sheriff’s raucous and theatrical sound. Through a storm of heavy sounds, haunting and catchy melodies, psychedelic, heavy rock and swing elements, a five piece horn section and a whole other bunch of fun, Sheriff have created a genre defying roller coaster of madness that promises to be worth the wait.
Along with creating out of the ordinary music, the band are also no strangers to hosting out of the ordinary events. Whether it be a non-stop-honky-tonk-hoedown in the crowded front bar of a Melbourne pub, a performance on the back of a truck on a raceway in the Pilbara desert or a small festival crammed inside of a seaside community hall that raised funds to record this very album, there’s always something fun in store when Sheriff have the reins.
The Album Launch will be no exception.
To celebrate the release they’ll be performing live from the stage of the regal 1920’s ballroom of the Thornbury Theatre with their rock and roll orchestra. Yes, as if a Sheriff performance couldn’t get more chaotic, the band will be performing the album in full as an eleven piece ensemble. Joined by the incredible mysterious forces of the Neptune Power Federation and the New Orleans inspired dance party of the Copperhead Brass Band, this will be an extraordinary celebration and momentous occasion not to be missed.
Come on down for a unique night at the theatre!
